How To Configure Recurring Payment Rules

Learn where to configure Recurring Payment Rules and what configuration options are available.

You will set up Recurring Payment Rules directly from the Job Detail page in your BidClips provider portal. This is the same page you would access to accept a standard. non-recurring payment.

Prerequisites:

Before you can configure a recurring payment rule, make sure the following requirements are met:

  • Payment processing is enabled for the shop to which the job belongs.

  • At least one credit card is saved for the customer associated with the job.

Tip:  If you do not have a saved card for a customer and want to create a Recurring Payment Rule, you can create a $1 transaction to save the card to satisfy the saved card prerequisite. That small transaction could subsequently refunded if you choose.

Add a Recurring Payment Rule

  • Select the '+ADD' button in the Recurring Payment section from within the Job Detail page.

  • Select a Saved Card. This example shows three (3) saved cards available for this user.

  • Choose a Frequency/Interval Option. You will have five (5) options to select from:
    • Daily: Set a rule to process a payment every X number of days.
      Example: Every 10 days.

    • Weekly: Set a rule to process a payment every X number of weeks on a specific day.
Example: Every 3 weeks on Friday.

    • Monthly On Day: Set a rule to process a payment on a specific day of the month every X number of months.
Example: Last day of the month, every 3 months.

    • Monthly: Set a rule to process a payment based on the week of the month on a given day, every X number of months.
Example: Third Friday of every 2 months.

    • Yearly: Set a rule to process a payment annually on a specific month and day.
      Example: April 15th every year.

    • Each Frequency/Interval option has a specified Start Date which defaults to the current date and can be modified by clicking on that field and selecting a date from the calendar dialog and selecting 'OK'.
    • Each Frequency/Interval option supports one of three ending conditions:

      • None: No end date; the rule continues indefinitely.
      • By: Ends after a specified date. You will select this date by clicking on that field and selecting a date from the calendar dialog and selecting 'OK'. Note:

End date must be later than the start date.

      • After: Ends after a set number of occurrences.
  • Enter an amount to be charged with the Recurring Payment Rule

  • Click 'CREATE' to start this Recurring Payment or 'CANCEL' to exit this configuration.
