How to Cancel a Bid

Learn how to rescind a bid after it has been sent to the customer

The BidClips platform is designed to assist you in efficiently creating complete and accurate bids to your customers.  However, should you realize that a bid has been sent to the customer incorrectly, you are able to cancel the incorrect bid.  Once the bid has been cancelled, your customer will see a 'quote is no longer available' message should they view it in the BidClips widget.

Locating the Bid to Cancel

You will first need to locate the original bid you wish to cancel and can do this in two ways: selecting it from the full list of bids or by locating the service request for which the bid was created.

To select the original bid from your full list of bids, click on the 'Bids' link from the 'Bid' section of the navigation bar on the left side of the screen:

Navigating to the Bid List page will show you a list of all existing bids.

Once you have located the Bid you are interested in cancelling, either click on the grid row or the 'view' icon.

To select the original service request, click on the 'Service Requests' link from the 'Bid' section of the navigation bar on the left side of the screen:

Navigating to the Service Requests page will show you a list of all existing requests.

Once you have located the service request you are interested in modifying, either click on the grid row or the 'view' icon.

When you view the original service request, you will see the 'Bids' section on the right side of the page.

Click on the original bid you would like to cancel.

Cancelling the Bid

Scroll to the bottom and click the 'CANCEL' button.

You will then see a confirmation panel asking if you are sure that you want to cancel the quote.  Click the 'YES' button to cancel the bid.

You will see a 'Service Request Updated Successfully' message like the one shown below:

You can also see on the Bid List page that the bid you just cancelled now has a status of 'cancel'.

Example of a Cancelled Bid Viewed by Customer

Once the bid has been cancelled, your customer will see a 'quote is no longer available' message should they view it in the BidClips widget.  The customer can no longer reserve a job for the cancelled bid.
