      Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Lookup Feature Overview

      What Does the VIN Lookup Feature Do?

      The VIN Lookup feature allows you to retrieve detailed information about windshield and back glass components by using a VIN. When a VIN is searched, the platform provides:

      • Part Numbers: NAGs and OEM Part Numbers along with Interchangeable parts.

      • Windshield Features: Details such as Solar Glass, Acoustic Glass, Lane Departure Warning Systems, and more.

      • Related Windshield Components: Information on required calibration levels and other relevant parts.

      • Back Glass Features: Details such as Solar Glass, Heated Glass and more

      How to Use the VIN Lookup Feature

      For Platform Users

      1. While Creating a New Service Request (From Within a VIN Lookup Journey Template Question):

        1. Enter the VIN number in the provided field.
        2. Select which glass type you want to retrieve (Windshield or Back Glass) 
        3. Click the Search VIN button.
        4. BidClips will fetch and display relevant Windshield or Back Glass parts information.

      2. When Editing an Existing Service Request (From Within a VIN Lookup Journey Template Question):

        1. Open a specific service request.

        2. Edit the existing service request.

        3. Locate the VIN Lookup question(s).

        4. Enter a VIN value and glass type (Windshield or Back Glass)

        5. Click Search VIN.

        6. BidClips will fetch and display relevant Windshield or Back Glass parts information.
      3. When Using the Standalone VIN Lookup Utility within the platform without a specific associated service request:
        1. Use the VIN Lookup Utility option on the left-hand navigation menu.
        2. Enter the VIN number in the provided field.
        3. Select which glass type you want to retrieve (Windshield or Back Glass) 
        4. Enter a country (US or CAN) if necessary. Note: the country code will be populated automatically based on your shop location(s).
        5. Click the Search/Magnifying Glass button.
        6. BidClips will fetch and display relevant Windshield or Back Glass parts information.





      For Customers Using the BidClips Widget

      Customers interacting with the BidClips platform via the widget can:

      • Enter a VIN number during their service request journey. However, the Search VIN functionality is not available to widget users. This action must be completed on the platform side by a BidClips user.

       

      How the Feature Works
