Introducing the VIN Lookup Feature in BidClips

We’re excited to announce a powerful new addition to the BidClips platform: the VIN Lookup feature! This tool streamlines the process of identifying specific Windshield and Back Glass parts for vehicles based on their VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of this new capability.


What Does the VIN Lookup Feature Do?

The VIN Lookup feature allows you to retrieve detailed information about windshield and back glass components by using a VIN. When a VIN is searched, the platform provides:

  • Windshield Features: Details like Solar Glass, Acoustic Glass, Lane Departure Warning Systems, and more.

  • Related Components: Information on required calibration levels and other relevant parts.

  • Back Glass Features:

How to Use the VIN Lookup Feature

For Platform Users

  1. While Creating a New Service Request (From Within a VIN Lookup Journey Template Question):

    1. Enter the VIN number in the provided field.
    2. Select which glass type you want to retrieve (Windshield or Back Glass) 
    3. Click the Search VIN button.
    4. BidClips will fetch and display relevant Windshield or Back Glass parts information.

  2. When Editing an Existing Service Request (From Within a VIN Lookup Journey Template Question):

    1. Open the desired service request.

    2. Edit the existing service request.
    3. Locate the VIN Lookup section

    4. Enter a VIN value and glass type (Windshield or Back Glass)

    5. Click Search VIN.

    6. BidClips will fetch and display relevant Windshield or Back Glass parts information.

For Customers Using the BidClips Widget

Customers interacting with the BidClips platform via the widget can:

  • Enter a VIN number during their service request journey. However, the Search VIN functionality is not available to widget users. This action must be completed on the platform side by a BidClips user.


How the Feature Works
