What is a Journey Template and how is it used in the BidClips platform?
A Journey Template is a series of questions designed to gather service-specific information from your customers to qualify leads and ultimately prepare quotes in the BidClips platform. You can think of it as taking your customers on a journey from initial contact through the entire information gathering phase of the BidClips workflow. If you prefer a more universal reference, you can think of a Journey Template as a questionnaire specifically related to a particular service offering.
If you are gathering information about an interior painting project you will likely want to know the number of rooms to paint, how many square feet of surface area you need to paint, pictures of the rooms, etc. If you are gathering information about a shower door project you will likely want to know the dimensions of the shower enclosure, what type of hardware finish is desired, etc. A BidClips Journey Template allows you, and your customers, to easily navigate the information gathering phase of your service offerings.
Here are some fundamental concepts to help you better understand a BidClips Journey Template:
- Each service offering in the BidClips platform is associated with one Journey Template.
- When you first log in to your BidClips provider portal, each of your service offerings will likely be associated with a Journey Template created by the BidClips support team, based on lessons learned from other industry leaders.
- You can see which Journey Template is associated with your service offerings by clicking on Services in Configure section of the left-hand navigation menu. Once the Services page is loaded you will see the Journey Template column.
- You have the ability to customize the Journey Template associated with each of your service offerings.
- Journey Templates can be created from scratch.
- You can clone an existing Journey Template, created by either the BidClips support team or within your provider portal, and customize it to suit your particular business needs.
- A Journey Template created by the BidClips support team cannot be modified; it can only be cloned, then modified after being cloned.
- There are different question types available to you when building or modifying a Journey Template, providing flexibility in your information gathering needs. Many of the question types can also be customized to have a desired answer property. A list of the questions and potential answer properties are shown below. - You will be able to see Journey Template questions represented as slides when editing. The question sequence number is visible in the upper left hand corner of the slide. The question type is represented by the icon in the upper right hand corner of each slide.
- Each question type can be configured to have its own visibility rules. The question can be: visible only to a user in your BidClips provider portal, visible only to a customer filling out information via the BidClips widget, or visible to both a user in your provider portal or a customer filling out the information in the widget.
- BidClips provider portal only visibility is noted with an orange "P" icon at the bottom of a Journey Template slide while editing.
- Customer only visibility is noted with an orange "C" icon at the bottom of a Journey Template slide while editing.
- Questions visible to both a BidClips provider user AND a customer using the BidClips widget is noted with an orange "CP" icon at the bottom of a Journey Template slide while editing.
- Each question type can be configured to be a required question. That is, it is a question that must be answered by a BidClips user and/or a customer based on the visibility rules established in order to be submitted.
- Each question type can have an associated BidTips component. These are tips visible only to BidClips provider users, located next to the Journey Template questions, designed to assist members of your team when interacting with your customers.
- After creating a new Journey Template you must publish the template and apply it to your service offering.
- After modifying an existing Journey Template you must publish the template for changes to be applied.
- Journey Template question sequence can be modified at any time using the "Reorder" button.
